Good Food and Wine show

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

We will be sponsoring the Good Food and Wine Show this weekend hopefully contributing a little sobriety to the beer and wine areas. We will also have a stand at the show so come along and say G’day.

We will be keeping an eye out for Gordon Ramsey who is the head attraction this year. Maybe if we see him we should go up and tell him to ‘Go Fu#&K himself’. He has properly been waiting years for someone to say that to him.

Instead of giving away water this year we thought we would ask for a gold coin donation and give all profits to the Red Cross who are always out there doing great work with those not as fortunate as us.

Hope to see you there

We are proud to be sponsors of this years Cherry Rock Festival headlined by The Datsuns. It is being held at AC/DC lane in Melbourne this Sunday. If you haven’t got tickets already I suggest you hop to it as there are only 500 on offer.

See you there with your bells.

Victorian Bushfires

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Our hearts go out to all those affected by the bush fires in Victoria this week. Our initial fears were loss of production when our own facilities were momentarily under threat, all that quickly became insignificant when news of lost lives started to come in. Not much else to say really. We are having our own meeting today to discuss how we can contribute as a business and as individuals. We encourage you all to do the same. Start by visiting this page put together by the ABC.

Bit of a late posting. A couple of weeks ago we provided some product to the launch of swanky new fashion store BODY. Some great clothing (which made my partner weak at the knees) by Australian designer dainy sawatzky and an awesome shop fit out.

Where is it you ask?

Prahran? Surry Hills? West End?

Nope actually Healsville thank you very much!

World’s biggest walk

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

On Saturday we sponsored a walk in Melbourne as part of the World’s Biggest Walk. The aim of the walk is to raise awareness for organ donation and transplantation. It is hard to understand why Australia has one of the lowest organ donation rates in the developed world. I mean really what are you planning to do with them when you are gone.

It is also well know that even though most people believe in organ and tissue donation, family refusal rates are 40-50% at the intensive care bedside. So make sure you tell your family that your cool with it.

Capture the ineffable…

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Every year just before christmas, Evian bring out a bottle that is designed by some flouncy European designer with a fancy name. This time it is Jean-Paul Gaultier the perfume dude. Damn I wish I had a name like that oh how the ladies would swoon.

Anyway I love the description of the new Evian bottle from the website:

here youth, heart and spirit find their source…

By playing on both the infinitely small and the infinitely large, Jean Paul Gaultier invites us to capture the ineffable in this exceptional water, pure and precious, like the simplest expression of timeless modernity.

Jean Paul Gaultier uses two unique creations – a ‘Prêt-à-porter’ and an ‘Haute Couture’ version – to crystallise the very essence of Evian water with his wonted talent.

“Prêt-à-porter” Creation
Simply pure…

With giant crystals revealing a shimmering gown, oversized letters generously enveloping the bottle and a play on transparency and optical illusions…  this special edition Evian bottle offers an extravagant celebration of the simplicity of pure beauty.

Magnified by a unique colour so very much his own, the majestic blue that offers a subtle reminder of a famous marinière, the Evian Prêt-à-porter version by Jean Paul Gaultier is already widely coveted and will soon be gracing every table.

To be appreciated alone or as a pair, these playful and lively objects emphasise the clearness of the meeting between the designer and his source of inspiration, Evian natural mineral water.

The simplest expression of timeless what-the-fuck??? I hope Jean-paul doesn’t come around here waving his wanton talent.

I mean the bottle looks cool and everything BUT FOR FUCK SAKE PEOPLE IT’S JUST WATER!!!

Fine Food Show

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

We had a great week at the Melbourne Fine Food show. Thanks to all those retailers who stopped by. There were many other bottled water companies at the show offering their various temptations (all with the same stuff inside the bottle).

A big thanks also to the guys from Soulfresh (they even came up from Tasmania) who filled the numbers on our stand and chatted with the retailers. See you next year.

Fertility Water

nicole kidman

Straight from a water that supposedly provides you with vitamins/nutrients, we have a water that gives you a baby!  Nicole Kidman has credited a special water source for her recent pregnancy.

Nicole claims the water that she and other members of the crew drank while shooting the new Baz Luhrmann film Australia on location in the noth of West Australia had special qualities.

“Seven babies were conceived out of this film and only one was a boy. There is something up there in the Kununurra water because we all went swimming in the waterfalls, so we can call it the fertility waters now.”

Not that the studley cowboy Keith Urban would have needed any help.

I can just see some demented marketing type jumping on to this opportunity.

Vitamins and stuff

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Interesting article in The Age the other day regarding the range of waters on the market with added vitamins and nutrients. When these products first came out onto the market they became very popular very quickly and I must admit we even started thinking that maybe folks really do want water with fancy pants vitamins and things.

But in the end we realise we are more like farmers than chemists and that we would prefer to keep things simple.

Anyway, this article confirms that it is very hard to produce something with flavours and such that isn’t full of sugar.

Read the article here.

Water sports

I love the olympics, for all the usual reasons of patriotism and green/gold and man/woman and blah blah blah. But the press conferences are driving me a bit crazy as just about every athlete who is giving a press conference has a bottle of water in front of them.

But get this….it’s not Another Bloody Water!!!!!

I know, crazy isn’t it?

Could this be another example of the Chinese communist government cracking down on all that is good in the west? Or did no-one ask us to supply the Aussies with water?

Conspiracy theorists go wild.
